Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies at Vancouver Island University (VIU) is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of globalization and its multifaceted impacts. This program emphasizes the importance of viewing the world through a global lens, fostering skills and knowledge essential for navigating an interconnected and rapidly changing environment. The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies is structured to be completed in 4 years and requires a total of 120 credits. The program offers the following options:

  • Major in Global Studies
  • Minor in Global Studies

This program is fully available at the Nanaimo campus and partially available at Cowichan and tiwšɛmawtxʷ (Powell River) campuses. The program is designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers.
