Combine gender studies and social justice with studies in gender, diversity, equality, and more with a Gender and Social Justice degree from Waterloo. This program allows you to explore the ways society is shaped by gender and become an advocate for equity, justice, and positive change. Throughout your studies, you will develop a deep expertise in issues of gender, diversity, equality, and social justice, joining a highly engaged group of students who are active members of their student society and the surrounding community.

Program structure

The Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Social Justice is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of gender issues and social justice. The program is structured as follows:

  • Program Length: Typically spans four years.
  • Available as a co-op program, allowing students to gain real-world job experience.
  • Students can choose to study through either Honours Arts or Honours Arts and Business.
  • 40% of the classes in upper years will focus on Gender and Social Justice.
  • Electives are available from a wide range of subjects to complement the major.
