Academic Requirements

For the Dual Degree - Bachelor Of Arts - Economics & Bachelor Of Laws (RNM) program, the following Academic Requirements apply:

International students must meet specific academic criteria based on their educational background.
For students from Vietnam, a minimum average of 7.0 in Grade 12 (only academic courses are taken into average calculation) is required.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

At Trent University, it is essential for students to demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written English to succeed in their academic endeavors. All applicants whose first language is not English are required to provide proof of their English language proficiency through recognized tests. Below are the accepted English language proficiency tests along with their respective minimum score requirements:

TOEFL / TOEFL IBT / TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition: 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20.
IELTS: 6.5, with no band below 6.0.
The Duolingo English Test: 115 (Note: Duolingo is not accepted by the School of Graduate Studies at Trent, and is only applicable for Undergraduate applications.)
CAEL | CAEL On-line: 60 (starting July 2020).
Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency (Certificate of Advanced English): 176, with no sub-score below 169.
Pearson PTE Academic In-person & Online: 59.
Trent Academic ESL Program: Academic English II with 75% in all courses.

It is important to note that English Language Proficiency requirements are subject to change without prior notice. If you have results from a recognized Canadian University English language testing service, you may submit your results for consideration.
