Program Overview

TMU’s Undeclared Engineering option provides students with the opportunity to explore various engineering disciplines during their first semester. This program is designed for those who are uncertain about which specific engineering degree to pursue. By allowing students to experience a common first semester across all nine engineering programs, they can make an informed decision without the need to reapply. This unique approach ensures that students are well-prepared for their future studies in engineering.

Program Structure

The Undeclared Engineering program is structured to provide a comprehensive introduction to engineering fundamentals. The program is offered in a full-time format for the first semester only. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Program Length: One semester
  • Common first semester across all engineering disciplines
  • Introduction to Engineering course to explore various disciplines
  • Guidance from academic advisors and First-Year Engineering Office ambassadors
  • Opportunity to declare a specific engineering program by December 1
