Academic Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Fine Arts - Music Theatre Performance program, applicants must meet specific academic requirements. Here are the details:

Applicants must have a minimum overall average of 65 percent, with no course grade lower than 50 percent, in the following high school courses:

ELA 30-1 or 75% in ELA 30-2
Four subjects from Group A, B, C, or D

Applicants are strongly encouraged to present a broad range of subjects to benefit from the breadth of learning and to increase flexibility in future program and course choices. Note the following:

A maximum of two Group B subjects may be presented; they must be from different disciplines.
A maximum of one Group D subject may be presented, which must be 5-credit or any credit combination of at least 5 credits (e.g., two 3-credit subjects).

For applicants with nine or more post-secondary-level credits, a minimum Admission Grade Point Average (AGPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. Those with a diploma or 24 or more university-level credits will be considered under Previous Post-Secondary Work.

All applicants must also meet the following additional admission criteria:

Applicants are required to audition and submit a cover letter and resume.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
